Hi all!

I have an important announcement and instructions for today's patch. If you do not follow these steps, you will not be able to patch and play Marvel Heroes.

Today's patch will be very large as it includes new environmental optimization, visual effects optimization, updated motion comics, and a lot of other changes.

Since Early Game Access begins next week, we have to now ask you to install the final game client. What this means (unless you are playing through Steam) is that you must uninstall your client and re-install the newest version (our "shipping" version) from our website. I've detailed instructions below...

Please note: Steam users will not have to reinstall the game, but they will also have a very large patch today.

1) Uninstall the Marvel Heroes Beta client from the Windows Start menu. You'll be able to find it under "Marvel Heroes Beta". Click the shortcut to start the uninstall process.

2) Download the newest version of the client. You can find this atwww.marvelheroes.com/download

3) Patch up to the newest version of the game!

Please note: Steam users will not have to reinstall the game, but they will also have a very large patch today.

Trying to avoid this process by moving files can corrupt your install. Please do not attempt this.

After this install process, you will only have to patch the game for launch (and beyond). If you have further questions please ask them in this thread. Thank you!

Good news and bad news!

We're not going to have a playtest today, which is the bad news.

The good news is that we're hoping to have a patch tonight with some more changes and bug fixes, and we'll be open tomorrow morning (we're thinking about 9:00AM PDT if all goes well).

The thing is, we're not planning to close until Closed Beta ends. We'll be taking the servers down for patching and maintenance a few times between now and then of course, but we want to let the game run 24/7-ish.

We haven't decided on exactly when Closed Beta will end, but it's pretty obvious that we're getting there!

As the title suggests, Marvel Heroes is now on Steam!

You can download through Steam for the Beta weekend. Anyone have any experience of doing this? Will these files just need updating for release?
I have heard rumour on the official forums that Steam may also take over the patching side of things. If thats correct, then its HUGE news. Right now, I could be playing the game. Instead Bitraider has decided I need to reinstall the whole bloody thing. At least I'm making the best of time by reading the forums, posting this, and watching Thor. Natalie Portman. Rawr.

Three Founders Packs are also available through Steam; Avengers, X-Force and the Ultimate Pack.

One word of caution - I'd steer clear of the Steam forums. A wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Marvel Heroines Assemble for a Premium Pack
